Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
Today, I would like to talk to you about how to optimize the no-group policy of Windows 7 Family basic Edition. Many people may not know much about it. In order to make you understand better, the editor has summarized the following for you. I hope you can get something according to this article.
You can do a lot of group policy optimization settings for Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, but how can you optimize it if you install Windows 7 Home basic Edition (hereinafter referred to as Win7) and do not have Group Policy? Discuss with you how to optimize Windows 7 without group policy.
Make clear the goal
In general, the configuration of computers pre-installed with Win7 Home Edition is relatively low, especially some notebooks and netbooks, and users' computer knowledge and technology level is also limited. Therefore, this paper optimizes two representative goals in the daily use of computers, mainly including the following two points.
First, it is safer. * it is typical to lock the key value of the IE home page to prevent malicious tampering.
Second, more efficient. Turn off some useless functions, such as the recording function that comes with the system, to save system resources.
Secure * lock IE, safely surf the Internet and browse freely
The most common problem encountered by users is that their IE home page is tampered with, resulting in a lot of inexplicable windows pop up after opening IE, which can be described as endless killing, endless rush, and a very headache. This is often caused by malicious tampering and hijacking of the IE home page when users surf the Internet or install some software. Therefore, it is necessary to lock the IE home page.
In the flagship version, users can lock the home page by "disabling changing home page settings" in Group Policy. For the home version, the key value of the IE home page is actually controlled by the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ Main" key, and the "Start Page" value in the right window is the home page of IE (see figure 1). So to lock the IE home page from being tampered with, we just need to set the current account's permissions on the above keys to "read-only".
You can also make a "regeini.ini" and place it on disk D, start the command prompt as an administrator, and then enter "regeini d:\ regeini" ("regeini.exe" is the command that the system has permission to modify the registry).
Tip: the way to run as an administrator is to click "start all → programs → attachments", then click "Command prompt" with the right mouse button, and select "run as Administrator" from the pop-up menu.
After completion, the user can only read the above key values without permission to change them (as shown in figure 2). The user can change the home page in IE, but the settings will not be saved. After closing, opening the IE is still the original home page, which naturally achieves the purpose of locking the home page.
Tip: registry changes generally need to restart the system to take effect, if you want to take effect immediately, you can open the task manager, terminate the "explorer.exe" process and then create a new task through the task manager, and then enter "explorer.exe" to run again.
Tip: how to change the home page after locking?
Expand the above key values in the registry, click the "Main" key with the right mouse button, then select "permissions", select "Advanced" in the pop-up window, and then switch to the "owner" tab to set the current administrator account as the owner (if the current account does not appear in the list, click "other accounts" and manually enter the current account name).
Click "OK" to return to the permission settings window, click "add", add the current administrator account to the list, and set the account's read permission to the key value to "full Control". After refreshing the registry, you can change the key value of "Start Page".
In addition to locking IE, there are some other security optimization settings that users can optimize selectively according to their own conditions. For specific optimization projects and operation methods, please refer to the following table.
Disable self-contained recording to save limited system resources
The default settings of some systems may not be suitable for all users, for example, if netbook users do not have a CD-ROM drive, then the system has its own recording function is of no use. Even if some brand computers have optical drives, ordinary users may not use the system's own recording function, and can achieve better results through third-party software, so we can turn off recording to save system resources.
Similarly, in order to facilitate everyone's operation, double-click the download file in the "noburn.reg" file to import the registry, optimization is completed, simple, right? Let's verify that if your computer has a CD-ROM drive, turn on the computer now and click on the CD-ROM icon with the right mouse button, and you will find that the menu of "Burn to CD" has disappeared (as shown in figure 3). Because the function has been turned off!
Tip: how to restore the CD burning function?
Start the registry editor, expand to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer", then delete the "Explorer" key, and restart to restore the burning function.
In addition to turning off the CD burning function that comes with the system, the user can also turn off the "send error report" function of the system; if the user is not connected to the printer, you can also turn off the system printing service; if the hard disk space of the user's computer is limited, you can also selectively close the partition protected by the system restore, and so on.
The specific operation methods are shown in the table below.
From the above introduction, we can see that although there is no group policy in the home version, we can also achieve the optimization function of group policy by using the registry editor and the system itself. Compared with previous operating systems, Win7 has been greatly improved in terms of security and ease of use, as long as the combination of UAC functions provided by Win7 itself, IE protection mode and NTFS permissions can achieve a high security effect. Therefore, for the average home user, the home version is enough, it is not necessary to install the flagship version. And if ordinary users have more needs, as long as they master some computer knowledge, they can completely turn the home version into a "flagship version" that suits their needs!
After reading the above, do you have any further understanding of how to achieve the no-group policy optimization of Windows 7 Family basic Edition? If you want to know more knowledge or related content, please follow the industry information channel, thank you for your support.
