Google browser has reached three digits, and its milestone version 100 release includes changes to user strings, multi-screen window positions, and adjustments to application icons.

Updates to Google's Chrome browser released on Tuesday have changed their version numbers on all platforms, bringing them all to version 100. The huge change in the version number has brought about some changes, although users will not immediately notice all the changes.

On the more obvious side, the icons used by browsers have changed slightly. This version, previewed by Chrome designer Elvin Hu in February, introduces an adjustment for each available operating system.

For the iOS version of Chrome, this update has made a small change to the proportion of the application, with a slightly larger central blue part. To macOS, the icon now looks like a short cylinder viewed from an angle, rather than a flat circle.

Google's developer log for this update found a problem with User-Agent in February, which is usually used to determine which browsers to use for configuration purposes. Because some developers may code with a two-digit version number and keep this in mind, there may be problems using the new browser version if it is not checked.

Acknowledging that some fixes had been made, the Chrome team warned developers and site maintainers to test their sites with the new version and add tests to resolve User-Agent versions greater than or equal to 100.

Chrome 100 will also be the last version that supports "unsimplified user agent string" by default as part of the user agent client prompt API. Starting with Chrome 101, the use of User-Agent will be "gradually reduced".

Contains a new multi-screen window placement API so that multiple monitors connected to the computer can be used in a unique way. One example given by Google is the use of slides for presentations, with full-screen slides on the main display and speaker notes on different screens.

Other changes in this release include the "Forget ()" method of revoking device permissions for HID devices, and the ability to use "makeReadOnly ()" to make NFC tags permanently read-only in WebNFC.
