It is reported that the new RedmiBook 14 laptop is similar in appearance to the current 8th generation Intel processor. Redmi, Xiaomi's sub-brand, will launch its brand's first laptop in the new RedmiBook line. The new RedmiBook 14 was touted as the 10th generation Intel processor, followed by new graphics options as part of its overhaul. However, the report does not say whether the 10th generation processor is a 10-nanometer Ice Lake family processor SKU from Intel or the recently announced 14-nanometer Comet Lake processor. The nature of the integrated graphics option may also vary depending on the processor's source product family.

A successor to RedmiBook 14, which was recently launched in May, is expected to have the same primary design language as laptops currently on sale. As the name suggests, RedmiBook 14 will feature a 14-inch display panel with full HD display resolution. RedmiBook 14 maintains the trend of the laptop industry, with a screen to volume ratio of 81.2% and a slim bezel on three sides of the display. For the mainstream business segment of the industry, laptop design is not much different from other products.

Other features about RedmiBook 14 include a full size keyboard, HDMI and USB 3.0 ports, and even a 3.5mm audio jack for added convenience. Since laptops are value-sensitive products under the Redmi brand, we expect the RedmiBook 14 to be powered by Comet Lake 10th generation Intel processors to improve price/performance and energy efficiency. While the exact price has not been announced, online reports suggest that the upgraded flagship RedmiBook will be more expensive than the highest version of its predecessor, which is powered by an eighth-generation processor.

If the new laptop is equipped with Comet Lake processors, users can expect the RedmiBook 14 to be the first six-core processor to be launched with Intel U-series processors. As a reference, Intel's U-Series processors are highly energy efficient and are typically used in mid-range productivity laptops with an eye toward extending battery life. More information will be announced Aug. 29, when the laptop hits the market. Redmi is slowly trying to build a full ecosystem under its brand, as the 70-inch Redmi TV also announced the trailer a few days ago.
