Brief introduction of HTTP Protocol

Http is a simple request-response protocol that usually runs on top of TCP. It specifies what kind of message the client might send to the server and what kind of response it gets. The headers of the request and response messages are given in the form of an ASCII code; the message content has a format similar to MIME. This simple model contributed to the success of early Web because it made development and deployment so straightforward.

HTTP is an application layer protocol, which, like other application layer protocols, is designed to implement a certain kind of specific application protocol, and its function is realized by an application program running in the user space. HTTP is a protocol specification, which is recorded in the document and is the implementation program of HTTP that really communicates through the HTTP protocol.

The following introduction to the HTTP protocol is based on the latest RFC7230-RFC7239.
