Hayes 3516A/D chip is the two most commonly used H.265 coding chips in video surveillance. It is generally believed that 3516D is a simplified version of 3516A.

Their processors and main frequencies are the same, both A7room600 MHz, 32 KB I-cache, 32 KB D-cache/128 KB L2 cache.

The main similarities and differences:

1. Coding ability

When 3516D is connected to 5.0MP sensor, the maximum frame rate is 15fps, which is 3.0MP and below is 30fps.

When 3516A connects to 5.0MP sensor, the maximum frame rate is 30fps, and when connected to 1080p resolution sensor, the maximum frame rate can reach 60fps.

3516D supports 16-bit DDR3/3L and supports a 16-bit 4G cache

3516A supports 32-bit DDR3/3L and supports two 16-bit 8G caches
