For events in the computer room, disaster recovery can be completed in the local data center; for building disasters, disaster recovery needs to be completed through the disaster recovery center in the same city; and for regional disasters, remote disaster recovery systems are needed to ensure business operations. A more typical approach, such as Huawei's "two places and three centers" scheme, is to set up a main data center, a city disaster preparedness center and a remote disaster preparedness center.
The local data center completes the disaster recovery of events in the computer room through online / near-line data protection measures such as dual-computer hot backup, local backup and CDP.
As the name implies, the disaster preparedness center in the same city refers to the disaster preparedness center deployed in the same city, which can achieve real-time backup of data and real-time switching of services in the same city, and ensure business continuity. Intra-city real-time backup ensures that the data of the master data center and the disaster recovery center are completely consistent, reaching the highest level of data protection, especially suitable for core and critical businesses, such as applications that require RPO/RTO to be close to zero. Therefore, urban disaster recovery requires high performance and stability of the network, such as high bandwidth and low delay. At present, the mainstream transport network technology is DWDM technology.
First of all, DWDM has super bandwidth and strong expansion ability, so it is especially suitable for the application scenarios where the bandwidth demand of data storage business is huge and the subsequent bandwidth expansion is frequent. DWDM is a multi-wavelength transmission system with huge transmission bandwidth and flexible expansion. At present, the mainstream DWDM system in the industry is 40x80 wave. If each wavelength transmits 10G bandwidth, the bandwidth that can be transmitted at 80 wavelengths will reach 800G; if each wavelength transmits 40G bandwidth, then the bandwidth that can be transmitted at 80 wavelengths will reach 3.2T; if each wavelength transmits 100G bandwidth, then a single optical fiber can achieve a massive transmission bandwidth of 8T.
DWDM can flexibly increase the number of wavelengths according to the growth of bandwidth demand. For example, at present, there are 80g of stored data to be transferred from the production center to the backup center, then the DWDM system only needs to use 8 wavelengths; if the subsequent 40G data needs to be backed up and transferred, only need to add 4 wavelengths on the DWDM system, from the DWDM device point of view, only need to add 4 boards.
Secondly, as a mature technical form, DWDM has been very complete in terms of network security and reliability. DWDM has not only the protection measures at the optical line level, but also the perfect protection measures at the service access level, which can fully meet the requirements of the disaster recovery network of data storage services in terms of high security and high reliability.
Third, after years of development, DWDM has been able to support all the current mainstream storage business interfaces. As long as DWDM equipment manufacturers and mainstream storage equipment manufacturers have done docking authentication tests, DWDM systems will be able to meet the needs of data disaster recovery systems for a variety of interfaces. Huawei has so far passed the most authentication tests with mainstream storage and server manufacturers.
The scheme of remote disaster preparedness center is to back up the data to a relatively distant city, across the radius of geological disasters, and can eliminate the destruction of operational data caused by earthquakes and other geological disasters. MSTP, WDM and other technologies can be used to build remote disaster preparedness system.
As a mature transmission technology, MSTP supports almost all interface types of Ethernet and storage services, and can fully meet the needs of the diversity of interfaces in disaster recovery systems.
MSTP has been very mature in terms of network reliability. The remote disaster recovery system adopts physical isolation methods such as two sets of equipment and active and standby route protection, which can achieve "dual" protection of the business network and core veneer, and ensure the privacy and security of the remote disaster preparedness network.
At present, the mainstream MSTP manufacturers in the industry, such as Huawei, support the use of color light module on the line side, which can be directly connected to WDM equipment to reduce the point of failure and further improve the reliability of the network.
