Linux 6 and above are not oracle 10g certified versions, and compared with linux 5, the following errors are likely to occur after runInstaller:

Exception java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: / tmp/OraInstall2015-06-09 / 06-28-58PM/jre/1.4.2/lib/i386/libawt.so: libXt.so.6:

Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory occurred..

Unable to pop up the installation graphical interface, this problem requires the installation of an additional rpm package: libXt.i686 libXtst.i686

After installation,. / runInstaller-ignoresysprereqs will pop up the installation interface successfully.

In addition, installing oracle 10g on linux 6 is prone to pop-up errors when the installation progress is 83%: ins_emdb.mk, which is a bug of oracle, as follows:

The installation process of 10.2.0.1 RDBMS software on SLES 11 x86 percent 64 throws the following error at 83%

Additionally, Novell's certification of 10gR2 software on SLES 11 x86_64 indicates that at least the 10.2.0.4 patchset is required.

This linking error does NOT occur during the 10.2.0.4 patchset.

Solution

1. The popup error concerning the linking of target "collector" at about 83% of the linking process of the 10.2.0.1 base-release install should be ignored.

2. Apply 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 patchset
