The category of foldable phones has not grown, but there is definitely potential. Only a handful of OEMs ventured bravely into the game. Samsung's most popular is its Galaxy Fold series (which we now call the Galaxy Z Fold series). The company has introduced several models over the past two years: the original Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip and its 5G variants, and the second-generation Galaxy Z Fold2. The South Korean tech giant is believed to have launched its next foldable phone. Galaxy Z Flip2 will be released in the first half of 2021. In the second half, we expect to see Galaxy Z Fold 3.

There hasn't been much reporting yet, but we've already mentioned that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will likely have S Pen support and will likely be ready by June 2021. There are rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold series may replace the Galaxy Note series, but we only heard that the Galaxy Note will be released next year.

As recently as last week, we were saying that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 model would be better and lighter. This time I heard that Samsung will launch three foldable phones next year. It's not impossible, either, because the company has learned a lot so far from how to design previous foldable phones.

There will be a new foldable flip phone-Galaxy Z Flip 2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will also be ready. A third variant could be the Galaxy Z Fold Lite, which is said to be competitively priced.

This Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Lite may be different from the Galaxy Z Flip Lite. At this point, we want to believe Samsung will launch Lite versions of any foldable series. Either Galaxy Z Flip Lite or Galaxy Z Fold Lite will definitely help the company scale in the foldable phone space.

The Galaxy Z Fold Lite is believed to come with a 4-inch protective cover display and a 7-inch foldable panel. The same display specs may also apply to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but we expect its cover display to be the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 2. However, if the brand really wants to sell it as a "compact" variant and a more affordable foldable phone, the smaller overlay screen might make more sense.
