Windows Admin Center, formerly known as Honolulu, is an evolution of Windows Server in-box management tools; it is a single Web window that integrates all aspects of local and remote server management. As an on-premises, browser-based management experience, Internet connectivity and Azure are not required. Windows Administration Center gives you complete control over all aspects of your deployment, including private networks that are not connected to the Internet.

Windows Server 2012 + server operating systems can be managed in a private cloud environment, as well as Windows 10, and of course Azure can be managed together.

Windows Admin Center installation is very simple, prepare a Windows Server 2016 plus domain as a gateway server, what role does not need to be installed, just need to install a storage copy of the remote server management tool (RSAT) function, directly run the msi installation package until the next step can be completed (here I will not repeat the demonstration), finally open the local computer port 443 access, the browser only supports Microsoft Edge and Chrome access

If you want Windows Admin Center to be able to manage storage replicas, this Windows Admin Center Gateway Server requires Windows Server 2016 Data Center Edition

Gateway users can connect to the Windows Admin Center Gateway service to manage servers through the gateway, but they cannot change access rights or the authentication mechanism used to authenticate the gateway.

Gateway administrators can configure who can access and how users authenticate the gateway. Only gateway administrators can view and configure access settings in Windows Administration. The local administrator on the Gateway computer is always the administrator of the Windows Administration Center Gateway service.

Admin Center can add server types that need to be managed, which can be single server, failover cluster, Windows Server environment with hyperconverged architecture, and Windows Client.
