When the destination address of the message stream matches the address of a node on the ring, the message is received by the loop interface of that node and continues to flow to the next loop interface until it flows back to the loop interface that sent the message.
The characteristics of ring topology are as follows:
(1) The cable length is short, and only the nodes need to be connected one by one.
(2) Optical fiber can be used. The transmission rate of optical fiber is very high, which is very suitable for unilateral transmission of ring topology.
