TF Chinese Community Technical Committee Membership Call is now open! Welcome colleagues interested in the development of China's multi-cloud network interconnection and open source cloud network industry to join us and jointly decide the development direction of technology stack and community. TF Chinese Community Technical Committee Charter

I. Mission

Promote Tungsten Fabric open source project in China;

Bring together industry users and developers to address industry needs and pain points;

Build an ecosystem to form a common cooperative ecosystem with developers, users, member enterprises, international communities and cooperative communities as the main body.

II. Duties of the Technical Committee

Set high-level architectural goals and coordinate the architecture and technical direction of all working groups and project teams;

Decide on technology stacks, software features and supported hardware;

Approve project or system proposals (including but not limited to incubation, retirement, and changes to the scope of subprojects);

Manage the lifecycle of subprojects;

Manage TF related industry cases and requirements gathering;

Define and monitor project technical processes and interfaces with third-party code and external projects, including the creation of subcommittees or working groups for technical requirements and problem management across projects;

Overseeing the Infrastructure Working Group and other working groups;

Appointing representatives to work with other open source or open standards collaborative communities;

Establish community norms, workflows, releases, security issues, and reporting policies;

Participate in discussions, seek consensus, and vote on technical issues affecting multiple project codebases when necessary;

Set target dates for software development and testing;

Coordinate any marketing and activities related to the project;

Establish vetting procedures to maintain the security and integrity of new and/or changed codebases and documentation, including vetting for malicious code and spyware;

Establish safety issue reporting policies and resolution procedures.

III. Structure of Technical Committees

TF Chinese Community Technical Committee consists of Technical Steering Committee, Working Group and Project Group.

Among them, the Technical Steering Committee is mainly responsible for setting high-level architectural goals, coordinating the structure and technical direction of all working groups and project groups, and participating in the work of each working group and project group.

Technical Steering Committee members need to be involved in working groups and project groups. The Technical Steering Committee has a Secretary-General who is responsible for scheduling meetings and preparing specific topics.

The working group is responsible for the specific work of the community. Each working group has the position of leader and deputy leader, and the number of members is unlimited. The team leader and deputy team leader are responsible for coordinating the work arrangement within the team. According to specific positions, the working group is divided into:

Document Working Group, responsible for TF related document site maintenance, document organization structure collation, translation, release and update; Community Liaison Working Group, responsible for TF Chinese community and international community and cooperation community liaison work; Industry Case Working Group, responsible for user and member enterprises liaison, sorting TF use cases and requirements; Infrastructure Working Group, TF Chinese community official website and project team CI/CD process to provide technical support.

The creation and removal of project teams is discussed and approved by the Technical Steering Committee at meetings based on specific needs. PTL (Project Technical Lead) is set up in the project team. PTL is determined according to the specific number of participants in the project. It is recommended that 2~5 people be elected by the project team participants and contributors.

IV. ELECTION OF THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

Candidates for the technical committee are nominated by TF Chinese community members and voluntarily applied by individual contributors;

Candidates for the Technical Steering Committee are elected from among participants in working groups and project teams, and candidates volunteer;

The term of office of the Technical Steering Committee is one year, after which a general election will be held.
