Editor to share with you how to use Xamarin to develop Android applications, I believe most people do not know much about it, so share this article for your reference, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, let's go to know it!
Android development tools
When developing Android applications, ADT (Android Developers Tool,Android development tools) is needed. This tool includes not only Android SDK Manager tools, but also Android simulator management tools. Using ADT, you can not only download the latest Android SDK and various versions of tools from the Google website, but also manage various simulators. The SDK management interface of ADT is shown in figure 1.1. Of course, ADT also provides other performance monitoring tools such as DDMS.
Figure 1.1 Android SDK Management
After owning ADT, it is not considered a complete Android development environment. Before using ADT, you also need to install support for the Java runtime environment on your system. Due to the limitations of the Xamarin tool, we can only use the 32-bit version of JDK, and even 64-bit systems must install 32-bit JDK in order to install and use Xamarin properly.
After installing the JDK for Java, we need to download the required Android SDK version and corresponding tools through the Android SDK manager (we'll talk about it later). Such an Android environment is complete.
Xamarin development tools
Xamarin cannot be thought of as a software alone, but as a platform. It is an environment and platform built by a series of software. When using Xamarin to develop Android applications, you need other tools and software in addition to providing the Andriod development environment in the previous section.
First of all, Android NDK for Windows version R8d support needs to be installed in the system, and then GTK# support is needed. Only in this way can you start installing Xamarin Studio and Xamarin. In other words, the following tools and software are necessary to install Xamarin:
Android NDK for Windows
GTK#
Xamarin Studio

In addition to this content, it may be necessary to download proprietary components on the Xamrin official website. These components may be used for the implementation of proprietary functions, which can be described on the official website.
Introduction to VS 2015
VS 2015 refers to Microsoft's Visual Studio 2015. This is a relatively new IDE developed by Microsoft. VS 2015 supports the Windows operating system well and natively supports C # programming. It is also the main operating platform for this book. For C # programmers, this is also their main battlefield. Familiar operating environment can save a lot of platform learning time.
