The 40G QSFP+ optical module has four independent full-duplex transceiver channels and is a four-channel small pluggable optical module. The transmission rate of this four-channel interface can be as high as 40Gbps. The density of QSFP optical module is 4 times that of XFP optical module and 3 times that of SFP+ optical module. as an optical fiber solution, it meets the needs of high-density and high-speed transmission.

The 40G QSFP+ optical module is designed for high-density applications. Compared with the traditional SFP+ optical module, the port density is higher and the cost of the whole system is lower. The 40G QSFP+ optical module conforms to SCSI, 40G Ethernet, 20G/40G Infiniband and other standards. It has four data transmission channels, and the transmission rate of each channel is about 10Gbps. The simultaneous transmission of the four channels can achieve the transmission rate of 40Gbps. This kind of optical module has two main interfaces: LC and MPO, which are used in single-mode applications and multi-mode applications respectively.

The QSFP-40G-SR4 optical module adopts MPO connector and the working wavelength is multimode 850nm. When it is used with OM3 multimode fiber, the transmission distance is 100m and when OM4 multimode fiber is used, the transmission distance is 150m. It is mainly used to realize the short distance connection between network devices in the data center. 40GBASE-SR4 optical module can not only realize the connection between two 40G network devices by using MPO optical fiber jumper, but also realize the connection between 40G network equipment and 10G network equipment by using MPO-LC optical fiber branch jumper.

The QSFP-40G-LR4 optical module adopts duplex LC connector, the working wavelength is 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm, and the transmission distance with single-mode fiber is up to 10km. It is mainly used to realize the medium-and long-distance connection between data center network equipment.
