A Cognos 8.4 server has been in use and has been working normally. Cognos service cannot be started after restarting. The error is as follows:

CFG-ERR-0103 Failed to start IBM Cognos service.

Error code with value "-1" returned after executing external process.

IBM Cognos Configuration test was used to start, and it was found that everything connected to the database was normal, and the service could be started normally before restarting, and the possibility of judging JDK error was also small.

After that, delete the service in Configuration and rebuild it, and it starts successfully again. Specific methods:

Configuration-->Local Configuration-->Environment-->IBM Cognos 8 service-->

Delete the service here and rebuild the service. Use default values for parameters.
