After the beta version has been available for several months, Android-x86 9.0-r1 is now officially released. This is the first stable version of Android-x86 9.0 (pie-x86).

The 9.0-r1 version is based on the latest Android 9.0.0 Pie version (android-9.0.0_r53). Features include:

The latest LTS kernel 4.19.105 supports 64-bit and 32-bit kernels as well as user space.

Supports OpenGL ES 3.x hardware acceleration provided by Mesa 19.3.4 for Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and QEMU (virgl).

OpenGL ES 2.0 is supported through SwiftShader for software rendering on unsupported GPU devices.

Hardware accelerated codecs are supported on devices with Intel HD and G45 graphics families.

Support for secure boot from UEFI and installation to UEFI disk.

Text-based GUI installer.

Add theme support to GRUB-EFI.

Support for multi-touch, audio, Wifi, Bluetooth, sensors, cameras and Ethernet (DHCP only).

Emulate WiFi adapters only on devices with Ethernet to improve application compatibility.

Automatically mount external USB drives and SD cards.

Add the taskbar as an alternative launcher, which places the startup menu and the latest application tray at the top of the screen and supports freeform window mode.

Enable ForceDefaultOrientation on devices that do not have known sensors. Portrait applications can be run in landscape devices without rotating the screen.

Support the arm arch application through the native bridging mechanism. (set-> Android-x86 option, 64-bit only)

Support for upgrading from an unofficial release.

Add experimental Vulkan support for newer Intel and AMD GPU. (boot through advanced options-> Vulkan support)

Mouse integration support for VM, including VirtualBox, QEMU, VMware and Hyper-V.
