LG is also expected to apply resonance-based wireless charging technology to LG Pay smart cards, a portable electronic device that will replace many credit and debit cards. LG plans to compete with Apple, Samsung and even Google through mobile payment platforms.

At present, many mobile phones on the market can use inductive resonance wireless charging, but this technology does not provide many benefits except that the mobile phone does not need to be charged by the power cord.

Magnetic resonance wireless charging allows the device to charge even if it is not close to the charger. LG's smartphone will be able to charge the battery at a maximum distance of 7cm with a charging efficiency of 7W, allowing the device to be fully charged within an hour.

However, it is reported that LG is not the only smartphone maker engaged in this feature. It is said that Huawei and Meizu will release phones that support magnetic resonance wireless charging next year. In addition, it is believed that Apple will introduce this charging feature in the upcoming iPhone 7.
