For the Server role, select Active Directory Domain Services, and when you are prompted to add features required by Active Directory Domain Services, select add Features

Select DNS Server, and when prompted to add the features required by the DNS server, click add Features to accept

Click next to continue the wizard

Click next on the function screen

On the AD DS screen, click next

Click next on the DNS server screen

On the confirmation screen, click install

Then click close

When you are finished, promote this server to a domain controller by clicking

Select the Add a new forest option to specify a root domain name, such as djclouds.com

Next, set the forest function level and domain function level according to your requirements. I chose the following default options, but you may want to configure different options for the hierarchy. For the password field, plan according to our security policy.

Click next when you are ready. For the DNS option, click next.

Next verify the NetBIOS name, and then click next

To specify the location of the AD DS database, log files, and so on, accept the default values, or change them to something appropriate for your hierarchy, and then click next.

Next, you can view the options (clicking the script will save your actions to the PowerShell script for later use). Click next when you are finished

Next, click install to begin

Complete the configuration, it will automatically restart the server

Method 2-use PowerShell scripts to run automatically

1. Copy the script to C:\ scripts on AD01
