Samsung has finally announced its first SoC in partnership with AMD. The chip in question is called the Exynos 2200, which will power the Galaxy S22 series. Just to be clear. It will only fuel those phones in certain markets, as Samsung will also be using Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The company has not confirmed this, but it is clear at this point.

Exynos 2200 is based on 4nm EUV technology

The Exynos 2200 looks very powerful on paper. Samsung says it will offer "console-quality graphics" on mobile devices. The chip uses 4nm EUV(extreme ultraviolet) lithography to improve power efficiency.

It has a three-cluster CPU architecture. It consists of one ARM Cortex-X2 core for peak performance, three Cortex-A710 cores for balanced processing, and four Cortex-A510 cores for efficiency. To be clear, all of these kernels are based on the latest Armv9 architecture.

Exynos 2200 also offers AMIGO(Advanced Multi-IP Regulator) technology that tracks the state of major components, including CPUs and GPUs. It can adjust their settings to extend battery life.

It features an Eclipse 920 GPU based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture
