DotConnect for Oracle (formerly known as OraDirect.NET) is based on ADO.NET technology and provides a complete solution for applications based on Oracle database. It brings a new method for designing the application structure, improves the work efficiency, and makes the development of the database application easier.

This topic describes how to create and use Oracle stored procedures and functions with Dotconnect for Oracle in a defined typed dataset.

If the procedure returns a result set, this recordset can be used to generate a dataset in a typed dataset. To do this, select the "get_all_depts_proc" procedure or "get_all_depts_func" function in "DataSet Wizard":

Then continue to generate the dataset and put the generated dataset instance (for example, dataset1) on the form. After that, the process result set can be used like a normal data table. For example, you can use this table to populate the data grid:
