Semantic meaning

An AcceptEventAction is an action that waits for an event that meets a specified condition to occur. The type of event accepted by an action is specified by a set of trigger conditions. If the trigger condition specifies a signal event, then signals of the specified type and subclass types of that type are acceptable. The AcceptEventAction has an attribute isUnmarshall that specifies whether the AcceptEventAction has an output pin that outputs the received signal or signal information.

Notation

In the activity diagram, AcceptEventAction is represented as a Pentagon with a depression on the left.

If you put it with SendSignalAction, it will be easier to remember.

Setting method

Add AcceptEventAction

First drag the Action icon to the activity diagram and select [Accept Event].

Set action name

Go to the [General] category of the properties dialog box and modify the action name as needed.

Set trigger condition

After entering the [Triggers] category of the properties dialog box, follow these steps:

Set the Name of trigger condition

Select the Type of the trigger condition. Options are: Call/Change/Signal/Time

Choose Specificaiton according to the type of trigger condition.

In this example, the Signal type is selected, specifying the TestSignal created in the previous article. Multiple trigger conditions can be added according to the actual needs.

The transmitting side usually sends only one signal at a time, while the receiving side often needs to monitor the occurrence of many kinds and multiple events, so it is called AcceptEventAction.

There are exceptions, such as waiting for a period of time, where you can choose an action of type [Accept Time Event], in which case the action is represented as an hourglass.
