PV dynamic supply

In the previous example, we created the PV in advance, then applied for the PV through PVC and used it in Pod, which is called static provisioning (Static Provision).

The counterpart is dynamic provisioning (Dynamical Provision), that is, if there is no PV that meets the PVC condition, the PV will be created dynamically. Compared with static supply, dynamic supply has obvious advantages: it does not need to create PV in advance, reduces the workload of administrators, and has high efficiency.

Dynamic provisioning is achieved through StorageClass, and StorageClass defines how to create a PV. Here are two examples.

Both StorageClass dynamically create AWS EBS, except that standard creates an EBS of type gp2, while slow creates an EBS of type io1. The parameters supported by different types of EBS can be found in the official AWS documentation.

StorageClass supports both Delete and Retain reclaimPolicy, and the default is Delete.

As before, PVC only needs to specify StorageClass and capacity and access mode when applying for PV, such as:
