Earlier this month, Xiaomi revealed that its next flagship device, Xiaomi 12, will be launched with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Now, the company has revealed that it plans to launch the Xiaomi 12 series with the latest customized MIUI skin next week.

According to posts shared on Xiaomi Weibo and tweets from Xiaomi PR, both Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 to provide "faster and more stable" devices. The first live broadcast will begin at 7:30 Beijing time on December 28, 2021, and will contain more details about the upcoming devices. In addition to launching the latest device, Xiaomi will also show the latest version of its customized Android skin MIUI 13. So far, only two devices have been identified, but the Xiaomi 12 series may include other smartphones running the new processor.

Although it has not been officially disclosed, we have seen some leaks corresponding to Xiaomi's Mi 12 series, which may please fans of the company's equipment. One such leak suggests that the upcoming device could be equipped with up to three 50-megapixel cameras and a periscope lens.

The vulnerability dropped around the end of August, when Digital Chat Station shared an update on Weibo, saying the phone would be equipped with a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra wide-angle camera and 50MP telephoto camera. The whistleblower also pointed out that telephoto cameras can use periscope systems to support up to 5x zoom.

Previously, Xiaomi 11 provided a 64MP main camera, a 5MP telephoto camera and a 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera as a backup. As a result, the three 50MP cameras may be a reliable upgrade for Xiaomi fans. It is also believed that the Xiaomi 12 series will be equipped with OLED displays with adaptive refresh rates. According to images shared by Xiaomi of the upcoming device, it also looks like it will use a punched front-facing camera.
