Step 1: Prepare firmware program: You can download it from the official website or Baidu. I have prepared BIOS upgrade firmware and iDRACK+Lifecycle Controller upgrade firmware here. The names are BIOS_6YDCM_WN64_2.4.3 and iDRAC-with-Lifecycle Controller_Firmware_4950Y_WN64_2.41.40.40_A00 respectively. It should be noted that when downloading firmware programs, download the firmware that is applicable to your server model, otherwise it may lead to non-compliance when uploading later.

Step 2: Log in to iDRACK via the Web page (of course, you have to tune in the network): enter the correct username and password, the default administrative IP address of dell server is 192.168.0.120 (we changed it), the default username is root, and the default password is Calvin.

Step 3: Update BIOS firmware, iDRACK+Lifecycle Controller firmware version: Before upgrading, we can look at the BIOS firmware and iDRACK+Lifecycle Controller firmware version, as shown in the figure below, BIOS version is 1.5.4, iDRACK firmware version is 2.21.21.21, Lifecycle Controller firmware version is also 2.21.21.21.

Step 4: Upgrade BIOS firmware: Select BIOS upgrade program "BIOS_6YDCM_WN64_2.4.3" prepared in step 1 through "Browse" button, click Upload, click Install and reboot after uploading, as shown in the following figure:

Note: If you download firmware programs that do not meet server requirements, upload will not succeed.

As shown in the above figure, click the job queue directly to locate the job queue and view the job status. At this time, the server will restart and display the following interface:

As shown in Figure 6, after the firmware upgrade is completed, the server will restart again. After the restart is completed, restart and log in to iDRACK. You can see that the BIOS firmware version has been upgraded from 1.5.4 to 2.4.3, as shown in the following figure:

Step 5: Upgrade iDRACK and Lifecycle-Controller firmware: The operation of upgrading BIOS firmware is basically the same. As shown in the figure below, select iDRAC-with-Lifecycle-Controller_Firmware_4950Y_WN64_2.41.40.40_A00 firmware program and click Upload directly.

As shown in the figure above, a system alarm appears. Click Job Queue to view queue information in Job Queue.

iDRAC will reboot when the iDRAC firmware update is complete, after which the iDRAC firmware and Lifecycle-Controller firmware upgrades are complete.
