But in test scenarios, we often need to constantly restore vm to a certain starting point, and then restart deployment and testing. Deleting / creating vm every time is still slow.

At this point, you can use the save/restore method.

Virsh save-bypass-cache vm2 / opt/vm2_save-running

The above command saves the current state of vm2 to the / opt/vm2_save file, which I took a look at, 597m.

-- running parameter indicates that vm2 can be started automatically the next time restore comes back.

This command causes vm2 to be shut down.

Some basic work can be done before save, such as setting the password-free access of ssh authentication, setting the proxy of apt-cache, and upgrading the system to the latest version. Install emacs and so on. The next time we restore it, we will have it all.

Now restore:

Virsh destroy vm2

Virsh restore / opt/vm2_save-bypass-cache-running

The virtual machine must be shut down first
