An old HP Unix needs to be accessed to the Win7 host through the Samba shared directory.

The Samba configuration on the HP Unix host is complete and the service starts normally.

Passed a RHEL 5.4 to test the mount sharing point successfully.

However, using Win7 access has been reported an error, as follows.

Click "start"-"run", enter secpol.msc, open "Local Security Policy", open "Local Policy"-> "Security options" in the local security policy window, and then find "Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication level" in the list on the right, change the value of this option to "send LM and NTLM-if negotiated, use NTLMv2 session security", and finally determine.

After completing the above steps, the connection still failed.

Add user credentials to save the username and password shared by Samba.

After doing the above two actions, Samba can be accessed normally.

Follow-up

Check that the Samba version of HP-Unix is 2.0.9.

The Samba version on the Linux host that can be mounted successfully in the first place is 3.0.33.

The lower version of Samba is supposed to be incompatible with the security policy of Win 7, so it will cause the connection to require special modifications.
