This is the official reply from Microsoft.

1. Try to open Windows Explorer (while pressing the keyboard Windows icon + E)

2. Click enter Organization >-- folders and search options >-- View, and uncheck the box before "always show icons, never show thumbnails". Try to solve your problem.

To put it bluntly, click on my computer and uncheck the box before "always show icons, never show thumbnails" above [tools] > [folder options].

Note:

Here comes the point! If it is not checked in the first place, check it, apply, cancel, apply, and confirm.
