In the experimental environment, I will create two 2016 virtual machines as SQL, each with 3 hard disks to act as 3 partitions, a system partition, a data partition, and a backup partition. In a production environment, it is generally divided into 100100150 (GB), but here I will use 10GB instead. Two network cards are needed, and one should be careful to jump the network.

Of course, it is best that the data hard disk and the backup disk are created on different partitions, so that even if a storage is broken, the data will not be lost.

In terms of IP address, the gateway is the gateway in the network, which remains the same, and DNS is the address of the domain server.

Create an account in the domain dedicated to the sql service, which will be added to the local administrator group of the sql server. Because in a real implementation, you often don't get domain administrator privileges.

Add a name and IP address to the cluster.

Here I encountered an error, creating a computer account for the cluster, and the current account does not have permission to create a computer account in the domain, so I want to use an account with permission. Here I will create a new ctxadmin, this account is for later batch generation of desktop virtual machines, we will use it in advance instead of giving sqladmin permission. The smaller the authority, the better. )

As shown in the figure below, when I created ctxadmin, I attached it to Account Operators, which can modify the domain account.

Add ctxadmin to the local administrators group (all servers in the cluster), and then run under this account this time.

It worked this time.

And then start configuring the new cluster.

Here I use a relatively simple shared witness.

After doing this, you still need to open the port of the firewall.

Open the following ports

Start the installation.

There is a problem in the middle:

As shown in the picture, the red circle part fails to pass the verification and does not report an error. It's going on all the time, and what I see is that sql2 has been connected to AlwaysOn. Later, I took a look at sql2's log manager and found that I kept reporting this error.

The service account sqlserver does not have the permission to log in, so it is not possible to add it to the sql of sql2. It is not successful until sysadmin is added.

Accounts that have been created in the current environment:

Ctxadmin: for later citrix management. Joined the Account Operators group and has the right to add domain accounts. At least or used to be local administrator privileges for SQL.

Sqladimn: used to log in to the SQL server. At least local administrator privileges for SQL. At least all SQL system administrators (sysadmin).

Sqlserver: the account used to start the SQL service. The password will never change. At least all SQL system administrators (sysadmin).

These are the minimum permissions for the account, and if you fall below this permission, there may be problems in the installation.

The following ports need to be opened in the server of SQL:

5022 (AlwaysOn data synchronization)

1433 (listener)
