Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article will explain in detail how to optimize the startup speed of 15 computer systems. The content of the article is of high quality, so the editor will share it for you as a reference. I hope you will have a certain understanding of the relevant knowledge after reading this article.
I. optimized setting of BIOS
On the home page of the BIOS setting, we go to the "Advanced BIOS Features" option, move the cursor to the "Frist Boot Device" option, press "PageUP" and "PageDOWN" to select, the default value is "Floppy", which means that the system will first read the boot information from the floppy drive during startup, which will increase the startup time of the machine and shorten the life of the floppy drive. So we have to choose "HDD-0" to boot directly from the hard drive, so that the boot is several seconds faster. In addition, it is recommended to choose "Disabled" for "Above 1MbMemoryTest" in the BIOS setting and Enabled for "QuickPowerOnSelftest". The setting in the "Advanced Chipset Features" item has a great impact on the acceleration of the machine, please pay more attention to it. Change "Bank 0ram 1 DRAM Timing" from "8ns/10ns" to "Fast" or "Turbo". "Turbo" is faster than "Fast", but is not stable, so "Fast" is recommended. If the memory quality is good, you can choose "Turbo" to try, unstable can be changed back to "Fast". It is recommended that memory bars with good memory quality should be set to "2" in the "SDRAM CAS Latency" option, which can speed up the speed. Newer motherboards support AGP4X, if your graphics card also supports AGP4X, then in the "AGP-4XMode" place to activate this, that is, select "Enabled", this will give better play to the ability of the graphics card, speed up the system startup speed.
Second, start DMA mode to improve the speed of hard disk
The highest transfer rate of the hard disk using UDMA/33, 66,100 technology is 33MB/s, 66MB/s, 100MB/s, which is theoretically 3 / 6 times the transfer rate of the IDE hard disk (in this case, the PIO MODE4 mode, the transfer rate is 16.6MB/s), but in the default setting in Windows, DMA is disabled, so we have to turn it on. The specific method is: open the "Control Panel → system → device Manager" window, expand the "disk drive" branch, double-click the icon of the UDMA hard disk, enter the "Properties → Settings → options", "√" in front of the "DMA" item, and then press OK, close all dialogs and restart the computer.
Third, remove the boot flag of Windows.
First you need to open "start" → "set" → "folder options" and check "Show all Files" from the "Advanced Settings" list box in the "View" tab. Then open the C disk, find the MSdos.sys file, and cancel its "read-only" attribute, open it, under the "Option" paragraph, add a line: LOGO=0, so that the boot pattern of Windows will not be loaded and run, and the boot time can be reduced by 3 seconds.
Fourth, optimize the "start" group.
Computer beginners love to try all kinds of software and delete it soon, but often for some inexplicable reason, the software still resides in the "startup" project (especially when using some D version of the software). Windows will waste a lot of time when it starts. To solve this problem, it is actually very simple, you can open "start" → "run", select the input "msconfig" in the "Open" column of the dialog box that appears, and then click "OK", which will bring up the "system configuration Utility", click the "Startup" tab, and remove the "√" in front of the program that does not need to be loaded into the startup group. In this way, the startup time can be reduced by at least 10 seconds.
Fifth, organize and optimize the registry.
After Windows starts up, the system reads the relevant information in the registry and temporarily stores it in RAM (memory). Most of the time Windows boots up is spent on this. Therefore, it is very necessary to organize and optimize the registry. For registry optimization, you can use software such as Windows Optimization Masters. To Windows optimization master, click "Registration Information Clean" → "scan" (figure 1), the software will automatically clean up the garbage in the registry for you, at the end of the scan, a menu will pop up for you to choose whether to back up the registry, it is recommended to choose backup, and then click "clear" after backup.
Maintain the system regularly.
If you install too many games, too many applications, and too much old data in the system, your computer will run slower and slower, and the boot time will be longer and longer. Therefore, it is best to do comprehensive maintenance to the computer at regular intervals. Click "start" → "program" → "attachment" → "system tools" → "maintenance wizard", and then click the "OK" button to carry out a comprehensive maintenance of your computer, which will keep your computer in the best condition. For the hard disk, it is best to do "disk defragmentation" every 2 weeks, which will significantly speed up the startup of the program, click "system tools" → "disk Defragmenter". Note that when defragmenting the disk, the disk on which the system is located must be defragmented in order to really speed up the boot sequence of Windows.
Seventh, expand the virtual memory capacity.
If your hard drive is big enough, please open "system" in the Control Panel, open "Virtual memory" in the "performance" option, and choose the second item: users set their own virtual memory settings to point to a less used hard drive. and set the maximum and minimum values to a fixed value, about twice the size of physical memory. In this way, when using the hard disk, the virtual memory does not have to accommodate the difference between its size and size, but uses the fixed space as virtual memory to speed up the access speed. The setting of virtual memory is best done after "disk defragmentation", so that virtual memory is not divided into a contiguous, non-fragmented file space and can work better.
Get rid of the fancy settings such as "wallpaper" and "screen saver".
These settings not only take up system resources, but also seriously affect the startup sequence of Windows. The way to remove them is to right-click on the desktop space, select "Properties" in the pop-up menu, select the "background" and "screen saver" tags in the pop-up dialog box, and set "wallpaper" and "screen saver" to "none".
Delete Autoexec.bat and Config.sys.
The two files Autoexec.bat and Config.sys in the root directory of the system installation disk are no longer needed by Windows and can be safely deleted, which can speed up the startup of Windows.
Streamline the contents of * .ini files, especially System.ini and Win.ini.
Many drivers and font files are loaded in the [boot] and [386Enh] sections of system.ini, which is the focus of cleanup. In particular, it should be noted that the shell=Explorer.exe in the [boot] field is a covert loading place that Trojans like, and Trojans usually turn this sentence into this: shell=Explorer.exe file.exe, notice that the file.exe here is the Trojan server program! The subsequent loading and running of the Trojan horse not only poses a threat to the security of the system, but also slows down the computer startup a lot; the programs loaded behind "Run" and "Load" in Win.ini, which are not necessary for each boot, can be temporarily cleared, and then click to run when you want to use them later. In this way, the number of files related to Windows calls will be much less when you boot, and the startup speed will naturally be much faster.
Turn off disk scanning.
When you open msdos.sys with a text editor, you will see the following: [Options] if bootmulti=1 bootgui=1 autoscan=1 does not want to run ScanDisk after an abnormal shutdown, you can change atuoscan=1 to autoscan=0, so that the computer will start faster after an abnormal shutdown (because scandisk is not running).
12. Let the guide message stay the shortest time.
Open msdos.sys with a text editor and set the BootDelay in [Options] to 0.
XIII. Reduce unnecessary font files.
Font files take up a lot of system resources, boot very slowly, and take up a lot of hard disk space. Therefore, try to reduce unnecessary font files. But if you delete the wrong font file, it may make Windows abnormal. So you can use the following "beam-for-column" method (you can install font files without consuming a lot of disk space): first open the font folder (such as F:zk), select all TrueType font files, drag them to the C:WindowsFonts folder with the right mouse button, and select "create Shortcut in current location" from the pop-up menu This allows you to create shortcuts to font files under the font folder of the system. When you need to use these font files, just insert the font CD and take it out when you are not in use.
Delete the superfluous Dll files.
In the system subdirectory of the Window operating system, there are many Dll files, these files may be shared by many files, but some do not have a file to use it, that is to say, these files are useless, in order not to take up hard disk space and improve startup speed, they can be deleted.
Fifteenth, "go the other way" approach. Such as using system suspension
That is, the current system state is saved after shutdown, and after the next boot, the system will directly enter the desktop before the last shutdown. With this method, the boot time can reach 4-5 seconds at the earliest, but not all motherboard BIOS supports it, and it is a bit troublesome to set up. Open the registry, expand to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionSharedDlls subkey, there are many Dll files on the right, if the data is 0, you can determine that the Dll file is not shared by the program, you can delete it. If the computer boot speed is still not fast enough according to the above method, in addition to upgrading the hardware (CPU, memory, hard disk, etc.), another good way is to reinstall the system, which can significantly speed up the computer startup speed!
Other answers
There is a "BootVis" program (green software), which is an accelerator designed for the Windows XP operating system by Microsoft. With this small accelerator, you will feel that Windows XP starts much faster.
Note: this latest version is for the Windows XP SP1 platform and supports Intel P4 HT technology.
Easy usage: (quoted here is my own Chinese version-620K can not be uploaded, if you download it should be in English)
1. Start BootVis, click options on the tools menu, type the path where the BootVis program is located in the Flags path box (for example: d:\ XP accelerator\), and click the Save button.
two。 On the track menu, click next Boot, and then click OK, and the BootVis program will boot WinXP to restart, record the startup process, and generate the relevant BIN file.
3. After restarting, BootVis is still running. On the track menu, click optimize system.
