Steps for publishing configuration information using IBM WCM (part I)

To achieve information and content presentation through WCM configuration, you need to go through seven steps. The configuration process of WCM is complex and error-prone, and each step must be done in strict accordance with the following.

Step 1: create a content library (skip if it already exists)

Log in to Portal as Portal Super Admin wpsadmin, go to the management interface, select "Portal content" → "Web content Library", click the "create New Library" button, and enter the name of the content library, character set, etc. (see figure 1-1).

Click "Home" → "manage" → "Information Publishing" to enter the WCM information release management interface, click the "configuration" toolbar in the upper right corner, and use the newly created content library as the default repository for WCM (see figure 1-2).

Step 2: create a site (skip if it already exists)

Enter the WCM content library management interface, click "New" → "site area", create a site area "a group portal site", and establish a site area tree under this site after successful creation. This tree directory is built according to the entire page structure and column structure of the group, so that it can be clearly displayed and easy to manage.

If you need multilingual support, click Localization to specify the title in each language (see figure 1-3).

After you have created all the site areas, you will get a directory system similar to that shown in figure 1-4.

Step 3: create a workflow

Even if you don't need approval, you need to create a workflow template, but the content of this workflow template is: publish directly. The workflow template is generic, and the previous template can be used for all later columns. Click New → Workflow template, and enter parameters such as the workflow name.

Note: the workflow is made up of workflow stages, which are made up of workflow operations and must be established in reverse order. That is, first create a workflow operation, enter the name parameters; then build a workflow phase, which is composed of the operations just created; finally, build a workflow, which is composed of the workflow phase that has just been established.

The specific steps for creating a workflow are as follows.

Substep 1: create a new workflow operation

① creates a publish operation.

Click New → process publish Action, and enter the name: operate_ release, as shown in figure 1-5.

② customized workflow

Install the workflow development package ECS_PORTAL_WCM_CUSTOM_WORKFLOWEAR.ear on Portal and create a new build and cancel to-do task named operate_process_task, as shown in figure 1-6.

Substep 2: create a new workflow phase

① draft status.

Name: stage_draft-draft status.

Perform the build and cancel to-do task as you enter the phase, as shown in figure 1-7.

Approver: à author

② approval status

Name: stage_approval-- approval status.

Perform the build and cancel to-do task as you enter the phase, as shown in figure 1-8.

Approver: automatically judge the approver when sending it for review.

③ release status.

Name: stage_publish-- publication status.

Perform the "publish operation" → "generate and cancel" to-do tasks when entering the phase, as shown in figure 1-9.

Substep 3: create a new workflow

Name: workflow_public-- Public approval process.

Select workflow stage: draft status / approval status / release status (after the default selection, manual sorting is performed to ensure the order of drafts, approvals, and releases), as shown in figure 1-10.
