Wireless routers with 2 Tp-Link are used for the following reasons:

1. Due to the lack of compliments from the previous 150Mbps without other brands of line routers, I barely received the signal from the parent router.

2. The previous successful case is two-way cascading, but it is found that TP-Link (parent route) cannot find the signal of the child route, the parent route is 300Mbps, and the child route is 150Mpbs and a single antenna, so the signal of the child route cannot be transmitted to the parent route.

Based on the above reasons, the wireless cascading scheme of different brands is abandoned.

Later, 2 Tp-Link routers were used

Parent route: WR841N Ver8.0

Child routes: WR845N Ver1.0

But when cascading, I found a bug, which was a very serious bug, which made me think that there was a problem with my configuration.

This bug exists on two routers, that is, after turning on the WDS function, the wireless signal is very unstable and often crashes, but the wireless signal is dead, resulting in the inability to use the wireless network (but the cable is not affected) and can only restart the router to solve.

As the wireless signal died, I mistakenly thought it was a configuration error. Later, after searching on the Internet, I found that it turned out to be the general bug of TP-Link.

What we are doing now is to turn on the WDS function of the sub-route, and the frequent wireless signal crashes, but the router software has been upgraded, and it has just been used for 10 minutes, so we look forward to solving it.

Let's talk about the configuration of unidirectional cascading.

Parent route configuration:

Others do not need to be changed, just pay attention to the following

SSID: name at will, unlimited

Channel: set to a fixed value, the channel of the parent route will be displayed when using the child route to search for the wireless signal, and the child route must be consistent with it

Mode: set to a fixed value, and sub-routing needs to be consistent with it

The wireless key type needs to be the same as the child route.

WDS shuts down

Child routing configuration:

SSID: name at will, unlimited

Channel: set to a fixed value, which must be consistent with the parent routing channel

Mode: set to a fixed value, which must be consistent with the parent route

WDS enabled: search for the wireless signal and select the parent route connection, enter the key type and the wireless password of the parent route

The DHCP service is shut down, otherwise it will conflict with the parent route. Once the cascade is successful, the DHCP function of the parent route will be used.

Lan port ip, which is set to the IP address of the same network segment as the parent route, but cannot be the same as the parent route, otherwise it will lead to conflict

Wan port does not need to be configured

Note:

1. The above configuration needs to be configured by using a computer network cable to connect to the Lan port.

2. If there is also a problem that the wireless signal often dies after turning on WDS, please upgrade the version of the router. It has been used for at least half an hour and has not crashed yet. It has been greatly improved than before. I hope it will never crash.

After the setup is complete, restart 2 routers, or will be prompted to restart during the setup process.

It should be all right after the restart is complete.
