Bind is developed and maintained by the University of California, Berkeley. Its full name is Berkeley Internet Name Domain. It is the most widely used DNS server software in the world and provides a powerful and stable platform. Bind 9.13.2 has been released, Bind is an open source DNS server software that allows DNS information to be published on the Internet and solves users' DNS queries. This release includes the following new features:

­named now supports the "root key sentinel" mechanism

­dnskey-sig-validity option allows you to override the signature of DNSKEY RRsets

­by default, support for QNAME minimization is added and enabled in loose mode. If the remote server finds an accident during query minimization, BIND will fall back to the normal resolution

­when building on Linux, BIND now requires the libcap library to set process permissions

­mirror allows the named command to provide a transmitted copy of the contents of the zone.
