Analysis tool SPSS how to use, I believe that many inexperienced people do not know what to do, so this paper summarizes the causes of the problem and solutions, through this article I hope you can solve this problem.

In the Internet era, the demand of users is becoming more and more different. in order to solve the pain points of users, we must formulate effective operation strategies according to the data of user behavior. However, in the huge user data, how can we efficiently obtain the data we need? How to deal with and analyze it after obtaining it? This requires the help of some data analysis tools, such as Excel, SPSS, Python and so on. Among them, SPSS has five characteristics: simple operation, powerful function, data compatibility, convenient expansion and module combination.

It is precisely because it has these five characteristics that most of the liberal arts-born operating cats can not put it down. In the process of practical application, SPSS can be used in the retail field to depict user profiles, in the Internet field through user browsing, consumer behavior clustering, research and summary of user characteristics.

In fact, SPSS is a fool-like operation software, you only need to be familiar with the basic interface and common functions, and then import the data you need to deal with analysis, select the corresponding analysis function according to the analysis purpose, and the software will automatically get the analysis results.

From the above, there are three points that are particularly important in the whole process of data analysis: 1) data preparation; 2) selection of appropriate analysis functions; 3) interpretation, analysis and verification of the results after SPSS processing.

As for data preparation, in fact, this is not our concern, because there will usually be specialized data analysis colleagues to provide you with data, as long as you know what data you need. For example, if an e-commerce wants to find high-value users from current users, it may need the user's ID, transaction date, transaction amount and other data. If no one prepares the data for you, don't worry, because you can get the data you need through the python crawler, don't be scared by the crawler, because you can find all kinds of crawler open source code on the Internet by moving your fingers, we just need to understand and apply it.

After the data is ready, you need to choose the appropriate analysis function according to the analysis purpose. The function of SPSS is very powerful, such as descriptive statistics, mean comparison, general linear model, correlation analysis, regression analysis, logarithmic linear model, clustering analysis, data simplification, survival analysis, time series analysis, multiple response and so on. Continue to take the data obtained in the above example as an example, then you can select RFM analysis to process and analyze the above data, and finally get the results shown in the following figure, with each user affixed with a label.

As you can see from the following figure, the analysis result table has several more columns of new data than the original data table, which are generated in the analysis process.

Finally, it is to interpret, analyze and verify the results processed by SPSS. The process will encounter a lot of unclear variable names and charts, but don't be afraid. As long as you define the above analysis function, you can get the corresponding explanation by relying on Baidu and Google. You only need to make a simple judgment. For example, if x > 0.5 means the model fits well, you can adopt the analysis results. X-comparison depends on the number of supporting evidence with consistent conclusions in the overall data set and on previous practices in the field of research. Generally speaking, the result of p value ≤ 0.05in many scientific fields is considered to be the statistically significant boundary line, but this level of significance also includes a fairly high possibility of making mistakes. Results 0.05 ≥ p > 0.01 was considered to be statistically significant, while 0.01 ≥ p ≥ 0.001 was considered to be highly statistically significant. However, it should be noted that this classification is only an informal judgment routine on the basis of research.

Are all the test statistics normally distributed?

This is not entirely the case, but most tests are directly or indirectly related to it, which can be derived from normal distribution, such as t-test, f-test or chi-square test. These tests generally require that the variables analyzed have a normal distribution in the population, that is, they satisfy the so-called normal hypothesis. Many observed variables are indeed normally distributed, which is why normal distribution is a basic feature of the real world. The problem arises when people use the test based on normal distribution to analyze the data of non-normal distribution variables (see the normality test of nonparametric and analysis of variance).

There are two methods under this condition: one is to use the alternative nonparametric test (that is, the non-distribution test), but this method is not convenient, because from the form of the conclusion it provides, this method is statistically inefficient and inflexible. Another method is that when it is determined that the sample size is large enough, the test based on normal distribution can usually be used. The latter method is based on a very important principle, which plays an extremely important role in the overall test on the basis of normal equations. That is, with the increase of sample size, the shape of sample distribution tends to be normal, even if the distribution of variables studied is not normal.
