This article mainly explains "how to realize Centos 7 to mount RAID10 hard disk for Dell R730 server". Interested friends may wish to have a look. The method introduced in this paper is simple, fast and practical. Let's let the editor take you to learn "how to implement Centos 7 to mount a RAID10 hard disk on a Dell R730 server".

The company has purchased a new Dell R730 server, which is equipped with two SAS hard drives and four SATA hard drives, and the SAS hard drives are composed of RAID1,SATA and RAID10. Install the Centos 7 system on the server with RAID set up in BIOS.

When installing Centos, choose to install the system on RAID1's SAS hard drive and RAID10's SATA hard drive as the data disk.

After installing and entering Centos, the system is currently only attached to the SAS hard disk, and the SATA hard disk needs to be partitioned and formatted, and then mounted to the system.

First use the fdisk-l command to check the system partition information, but enter, there is no command execution result, and there is no error prompt. Then I suddenly remembered that because I didn't use the root user to log in to the system, because I didn't use root permission to execute the command, I immediately re-executed the fdisk-l command with sudo, and I saw the partition information of the system's hard disk. You can see the / dev/sda hard drive and the partitions under it, as well as the / dev/sdb hard drive. Now partition / dev/sdb, start partitioning with the fdisk / dev/sdb command, and then check it out and think it's better to use the gdisk command. Using the sudo gdisk / dev/sdb command, follow the prompts to temporarily partition sdb1 from / dev/sdb, which is half the size of the entire RAID10 space.

After dividing the partition, you also need to format the new partition. The xfs file system is recommended on Centos, so use the mkfs.xfs / dev/sdb1 command for formatting.

Next, mount the formatted new partition to / home. This requires uninstalling the original mount point of / home, and before using the tar command to back up the data under / home, execute the following command: tar-cvf / tmp/home.tar / home, followed by sudo umount / home, but prompts the error of device is busy, which indicates that a process is using / home. Use fuser-m / home to see what process is using the / home directory. It is found that because the ssh terminal is used to connect to the server, the root directory of the currently logged-in user is under / home, so you need to log out of the current user first, change the root user login and then uninstall / home mount.

After using root users to log in to the system, use umount / home to unmount / home, and then use mount / dev/sdb1 / home to mount successfully. Finally, you need to extract the data backed up in the original / home directory to the / home directory. Through the attempt, you need to execute the following command in the system root directory: tar-xvf / tmp/home.tar home, if you use tar-xvf / tmp/home.tar. Or tar-xvf / tmp/home.tar / or tar-xvf / tmp/home.tar / home will prompt / or. The home directory does not exist under / home, because the root directory in the compressed package is home.

At this point, how to partition, format, mount RAID10 in the Centos system has been completed.

At this point, I believe you have a deeper understanding of "how to achieve Centos 7 to mount RAID10 hard drives on Dell R730 servers". You might as well do it in practice. Here is the website, more related content can enter the relevant channels to inquire, follow us, continue to learn!
