Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

The first time I came into contact with a computer was when I was in a technical secondary school.

At that time, I majored in electromagnetic Measurement and Instrumentation, but there was a computer room in the school. At that time, I successively learned two computer-related courses, one was Basic, the other was single-chip microcomputer, but I didn't teach how to use the operating system.

In 1993, I worked and worked as a coolie for a year. When I first worked, my mentality was: TMD, I don't have to study any more, let's be a gangster and gradually upgrade our professional title from technician to assistant engineer or engineer. It would be nice to be able to get to this point. Who would have thought that engineers are everywhere now?

After abandoned a year of study, suddenly found that the original students are also spare time reading, so, confused, even what the computer information management major is not clear about the circumstances, began to self-examination process, from then on out of control.

I remember that in 1994, when I got on the computer for the first time and came into contact with DOS, that novelty at that time, hey, speaking of which, many people may not be able to imagine.

At that time, I still used dos5.0, which included a version of dosshell. When I used it a few times, because I got on the computer in the computer room of the school, it was still a Zen skill. In order to grab time, I basically memorized all the orders in a book on the use of dos. That was rote memorization, because I didn't know how to use "/?". I even memorized the options to death. However, I thought that it was precisely because of this action that it made me feel like a fish in water when I learned Novell Netware later.

I can't help the restriction of the computer room. I remember that in September 1994, I bought a 486 for 7200 yuan, and I was cheated at that time, because I always thought it was Intel's CPU, who thought it was cyrix's, and I don't know who else knows about this company.

After having their own computers, dos6.21, 6.22 and win3.2 have all been installed one after another.

I remember that when I installed Windows, I used a TSR program called imgdrive (or ddup). When a floppy disk sold for nearly 10 yuan, it saved me a lot of money (but I also spent a lot of money on CD-ROMs. At that time, there was a small shop with a travel agency sign hanging at the intersection of Shanghai Gao'an Road and Huaihai Road, 50 yuan per D CD, ah), and other things, such as Chinese Star 2.0, were also installed in this way.

In this way, I tried win95 in 1997, but I finally killed it. Because the machine can't run, I want to surf the Internet. What should I do? I used the win3.11 workgroup version until August 1998 when I changed my computer.

With an AMD K6-266 computer (which is so short of budget, otherwise it would be K6-II 300), win98 experienced it for about a month, changed to windows NT 4.0, and then transitioned directly to win2k more than 2 years later, so I didn't use WinME.

By the way, during this period, I really used OS/2 Warp 3.0. this is the operating system of IBM and is compatible with DOS programs, because on the eve of the release of Win95, IBM reached a strategic agreement with which government department at that time (which should be the Ministry of Information Industry or its predecessor) to promote OS/2. As it happens, I have it on one of my D drives, which is also in img format, and it has been installed and played for less than a month.

I graduated from junior college in 1997. To tell you the truth, at this time, I can write batch commands, and the optimization of dos and win3.11 is still very good, but I still think I lack experience.

In 1998, I did a very sick thing.

There is a CD, there is SCO UNIX, the version number has been forgotten, but they are all img files (I believe the old bird knows what format this is). In a moment of curiosity, I moved a computer from a friend, coupled with my own computer, started the process of installing UNIX for the first time, relying on HD-Copy and about 5 floppy disks, tossing back and forth between the two computers, and then shouted "the blood of real TMD." And so on.

Because this process is the first time to have a perceptual understanding of unix. Then I wondered if I could find a bootable installation CD of unix, but it didn't work until about June or July 1998, when I saw the introduction of linux in the computer newspaper.

In November 1998, I finally bought the only Linux textbook that could be found at the Shanghai Science and Technology Bookstore at that time. Yu Mingjian's "complete Collection of linux use", 70 yuan, including Redhat5.1 installation CD.

The first installation took a lot of trouble. I remember it took me more than 3 hours to get it done, and the graphical interface was out of my mind at that time.

So trembling leisurely, began to learn Linux. It should be said that at that time, of all the people I knew around me, I was the only one who was learning Linux. I had no information, and it was the most painful to find no one to ask. However, fortunately, the way of thinking played down when I was learning dos played a positive role. By the year 2000, basically, dns, dhcp, ftp and other common services can already be configured more skillfully.

However, time flies, and now I have lost the interest in linux, and no longer engaged in pure technical work. Sometimes when I talk about linux with friends and colleagues, I ask: do you know what xf86config does? How come RAID is built in "Bird's Private Cuisine", but it doesn't mention anything about raidtab? Do you know why the sound card with ISA or even the sound card with PCI interface had to be equipped under dos and then hot-started to linux (dual boot mode) to produce sound?

They were stunned. Ask me: do you know LVM? Do you know SeLinux? It's my turn to open my confused eyes.

Let's talk about Novell Netware.

Just to be clear, I used to be a CNE, but the certificate has long since expired.

For Novell Netware, the first contact seems to be in late 1996 and early 1997. At that time, it belonged to the nature of learning to play. After I left the coolie company in July 1998, I wanted to study formally and systematically, and then set the goal to take the MCSE first and then pass the CNE.

There is nothing special to say about the learning process. It took me about a year and a half to take the MCSE exam, and I passed it a few months before the end of the NT4 exam. For no reason, I spent almost all my energy on reading English textbooks. The advantage is that later, when I read the original Novell textbooks, I didn't spend much effort. In about 4 months, I passed 5 exams of CNE and got certificates (it should be 6, but because of MCSE, I can be exempted from one exam).

Obviously, I didn't catch up with the good times of Novell, because my CNE certificate was not nearly as useful as MCSE in the job search process.

But even so, at least until 2005, the things of Novell Netware were not left behind. I played with the 6. 0 and 6. 5 versions later, and now I still have these OS installation CDs at home.

Talk about two software under Netware that I played at that time. I don't know who has used them: Z.E.N Works and GroupWise.

Let's talk about other operating systems:

1. Solaris: installed version 8.0 and studied it for a while, then it was free and downloaded, but there was no motivation to learn.

2. SCO Unix: remember that it was version 5.x. At that time, a customer replied that it did not support a certain raid card and installed it (working in ASUS at that time) for compatibility testing.

3. BeOS: after seeing the introduction, I downloaded it and played it in a moment of curiosity. It was deleted after 2 hours.

4. DR-DOS: for a period of time, it is used more, for no reason, some advantages make it have its special advantage when doing system maintenance.

5. Windows Vista: never used it.
