How to distinguish between CVM, virtual host and VPS? I believe that many inexperienced people are at a loss about this, so this article summarizes the causes and solutions of the problem. Through this article, I hope you can solve this problem.
When new users are building a site to choose space, they often hear terms such as cloud host, virtual host and VPS, so what's the difference between them?
Virtual host
Shared hosts are also called virtual hosts. Since the birth of the Internet, most webmasters have learned to build stations from "shared hosts" (shared hosting). The so-called "shared host" means that there is a lot of website space on a server, and everyone shares the hardware and bandwidth of the server. If it fails, none of the above websites will be accessible.
Vps
Vps host (Virtual Private Server virtual dedicated server), high-quality service that divides a server into multiple virtual private servers. Each VPS can be assigned an independent public network IP address, independent operating system, independent super-large space, independent memory, independent CPU resources, independent execution programs and independent system configuration, etc. In addition to allocating independent resources, users can install their own programs and restart the server separately.
CVM
A CVM is a part that virtualizes multiple independent hosts on a group of cluster hosts, and each host in the cluster has an image of the CVM. The host leasing company turns its hardware and network lines into a "cloud" and then provides some network interfaces API to the "cloud" for customers to use. At this point, each customer no longer shares a particular server, but all the servers in the cloud.
For example, if you want to back up your files on the Internet, you can use a shared host to transfer the files to a certain server, or you can use a CVM to transfer them to the CVM through some form of interface.
In other words, the shared host user directly faces the specific server, while the CVM user directly faces the network interface and cannot see the inside of the server. The CVM can really get the root permission, and the user can reinstall and upgrade the operating system, while the VPS host user cannot reinstall and upgrade the operating system without root permission.
After reading the above, have you mastered how to distinguish between a CVM, a virtual host and a VPS? If you want to learn more skills or want to know more about it, you are welcome to follow the industry information channel, thank you for reading!
