What is dual channel? Before Hongwang Semiconductor said, it is to install two memory chips. In the past, memory controllers only had one control unit, which could only operate one memory stick at a time; later, a new control unit was added to support the simultaneous operation of two DIMMs, which is what Hongwang Semiconductor usually calls Dual Channel (dual channel), and now there is Quad Channel, which is four channels. More channels, you can access more memory at the same time, memory bandwidth can theoretically double the dual channel, four channels can reach four times the bandwidth. The same is true for different capacities, such as 8GB+4 GB, a combination of different capacities. In some cases, especially during sales, you may find dual-channel memory cheaper than single-root memory. In general, single-pass RAM is cheaper than dual-pass RAM. However, in the world of PC hardware, hundreds of different parts from many brands and manufacturers are sold every day. So, if you can buy dual suite RAM for less than one RAM(all other factors being equal), then do it.

Another important reason for choosing dual channels is aesthetics. Using one RAM on a motherboard with four DIMM slots doesn't look as clean as using two RAM--or better yet, four RAM. So if the price difference between a single RAM and a dual or quad channel of the same capacity is small, and you're thinking about the aesthetics of the build, then you can opt for padded DIMM slots.

So, must dual channel memory be better than single channel memory? Dual-channel memory can get twice the bandwidth for the same capacity, especially when the graphics card is not strong, dual-channel memory can bring more obvious performance advantages. However, if you want to use dual-channel memory, you must consider more conditions. First of all, your motherboard should support dual channels; secondly, the two memories are best of the same model, in addition, dual channels in the case of a separate graphics card, the performance of the game is improved, and the single channel is not much different.

Of course, dual-channel memory is best of the same brand, the same capacity and the same frequency. So you don't have to worry about compatibility issues. If the memory of different brands is composed of dual channels, if it is miscellaneous, it may be incompatible, resulting in failure to open the machine and blue screen.
