When using VirualBox to migrate virtual machines on Windos server, you can use the built-in import and export feature, but when the virtual machine is larger than dozens of gigabytes of capacity, it will be particularly slow. Generally speaking, the faster way is to clone the virtual machine disk directly, then copy the virtual machine disk to the new machine, create a new virtual machine, and select the cloned disk.

View the virtual disk location of the virtual machine:

Clone disk command, use VBoxManage.exe in the installation directory to perform cloning, command line execution:

C:\ > F:\ VirtualBox\ VBoxManage clonehd F:\ win2008_1\ win2008_1-disk1.vdi F:\ VM-BACK\ win2008_1- 247.vdi

A new UUID will be regenerated after the clone is completed, and an error will be reported if you directly copy the original virtual disk to boot.

Boot with a cloned disk:

Just start the virtual machine and it will be slow to load for the first time. The virtual machine is cloned in the same way.
