Just over a month into Android, stealth mode will launch Google Maps on iOS this week. This is just one way for Google to return control to users when talking about privacy, and it will be a hot addition to the numerous features Google has brought to one of its most popular apps in recent months. Make sure your Google Maps app is up to date to take advantage of stealth mode.

According to Google, this function is the same on iOS as it is on Android. When hidden mode is enabled, all places you search or navigate to using this application will not be saved in your Google account. However, you won't see any personalized features, such as restaurants recommended based on your history. The location you visit is not saved in the timeline because your location record cannot be updated.

But this is not the whole function that Google can provide you with more control over data. In the same article, Google Maps product manager Mal Losand MacGriff said that batch deletions will be released on the Android Timeline next month. After the introduction of this feature, it is easier than ever, and you can choose to remove it from the timeline and location records. Google will slowly but certainly provide users with full control of Google Maps.

These are not the most gorgeous additions to one of the world's most popular apps, but I'm glad to see that Google is more concerned about privacy, especially as the threat to our security is greater than ever.
