Benshaw found that many friends were interested in FCC's message that all phone operators were required to use caller ID authentication against mechanical phones. Bian Shaw collated some relevant information for FCC, requiring all phone operators to use caller ID authentication against mechanical phones and share them here.

In view of our increasing understanding of security and privacy, in this day and age, we hope that the number of people cheating on the phone will decrease. However, the government decided to step up efforts to prevent telephone fraud because of the automatic call program, which lost about $10 billion a year.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a notice that all phone companies will adopt a caller ID authentication technology called STIR/shaked by June 30, 2021. STIR stands for "rechecking the identity of a secure phone," and "SHAKEN" is an acronym for "using toKEN for signature-based declaration information processing." This technology requires a caller ID signature issued by the calling operator, which can then be verified by other operators before the call can be completed. As a result, the operator verifies that the caller ID data sent with the call matches the caller's phone number and can better identify fraudulent calls before they reach the user.

According to the announcement, the policy is expected to generate more than $3 billion a year. The new technology will also restore users' trust in the caller ID on the display screen, thus encouraging people to answer more phone calls.
