A few months ago, patents for Xiaomi's rotating camera module and rotating camera smartphone design surfaced online, and patents for folding screens and pop-up selfie cameras were made public.

Now, another Xiaomi smartphone patent has surfaced online, showing a unique camera module designed so that the front camera sensor will not be seen when it is not in use.

The purpose of this design is clear. The company wants to use the front space of the monitor as much as possible. As a result, there is no camera sensor on the front, and the entire front panel is covered by the screen.

As can be seen from the picture, the camera module is designed with rotation, so when the current camera is triggered, the module will rotate and the sensor will pop up. Because it supports 360-degree rotation, the camera can also slide out of the side of the phone.

This design patent can replace the current pop-up camera mechanism and camera technology under the display screen. Although Visionox has announced display camera technology for mass production, some brands say the technology is not ready for flagship performance.

As for this special patent, it remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will decide to continue to develop and commercialize smartphones of this design. Not all patents are changing with each passing day, so we're not sure if we can see the launch of smartphones with this design.
