­in December 2015, online ride-hailing platform Uber launched the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) Windows 10 app. The app is available on both PC and mobile platforms, and supports features such as Cortana, but Uber announced earlier this year that it would stop supporting the Windows 10 app, making it unavailable on both platforms. However, Uber has updated and added the Progressive Web App (PWA) application to Microsoft Store today to make it easy for users to use.

­PWA is the use of modern technology to enable web applications to provide a native application experience, it can use some features in the system to simulate local applications, such as push notifications and offline work, and so on. Uber's PWA application is currently available on the Windows 10 platform, but does not support the Windows 10 Mobile system.

­from the initial experience on the PC side, the app is still relatively simple, providing online ride-hailing booking and coupon exchange functions. Some features, such as viewing previous order itineraries, are redirected to the browser page. Because it is a PWA application, it does not need to be updated through Microsoft Store, but will be updated through the server side.
