On July 15, 2018, a customer's oracle database failed to complete the open operation due to a startup error. The failure handling process experienced ORA-03113&ORA-16038&ORA-30012-related errors and processing, and finally successfully opened the database. Summary of the cause of the failure: repeated startup and shutdown database error due to oracle startup and shutdown is not completed: ORA-03113,oracle flashback space full error ORA-16038,oracle pfile parameter file undo tablespace setting is inconsistent with spfile parameter file undo tablespace setting resulting in error: ORA-30012. Here is the process of dealing with the problem.

Environmental Information:

Operating system: windows server 2008R2

Database version: oracle 11.2.0.3

Database storage type: ASM

Cause of the failure: the database cannot be started after the oracle database server is restarted

1. Database startup error after restart of oracle database server: ORA-03113

According to personal experience, it is caused by the repeated shutdown and restart of the database and the incomplete operation of the database.

The action to be performed later is: SQL > conn / as sysdba, and then execute: shutdown abort;, completely releases the database process resources

2. Start the database again in three steps, and an error is found: ORA-16038

According to the alarm message: preliminary judgment is that the archive space disk is full.

The actions performed later are:

A, oracle log in to the rman console: rman target /

B. Delete archive file: delete archivelog all

3. Try to start the database again with an error: ORA-30012

Oracle oerr shows that the undo tablespace specified in the parameter file does not exist

Process:

A. Start the instance to mout status, and check that the Undo table space in the instance spfile parameter file is UNDOTBS11.

B. View the most recent startup or undo tablespace related operations from the alert log, and show that the database Undo tablespace is: undotbs13

C. Create pfile and change the undo tablespace in the parameter file to undobts13

4. Try to open the library in three steps from pfile.

At this point, the problem has been dealt with, and the database has been successfully open.
