Lab 1: configure Telnet login for a router / switch

I. purpose of the experiment

Learn how to configure Telnet on the router to enable remote login access to the router.

Second, experimental principle

Connect two routers through serial port with V.35 DTE/DCE cable, configure Telnet respectively, and can be used for each other.

Log in to each other as Telnet.

The router provides a wide area network interface (serial high-speed synchronous serial port) and uses V.35 cables to connect the WAN interface link.

Router / switch (with serial port)

V.35 DCE/DTE cable 1 pair

IV. Experimental steps

Power on the cabinet with the router / switch

Log in to 172.28.15.103VR 8080 on the computer and select a router / switch.

Configure the IP for one of the interfaces of the router.

Configure the password to log in to Telnet

Connect the corresponding cable to the interface of the router / switch using another computer that can communicate with the router / switch

Configure the IP of the new access network

Test network connectivity and log in to the router / switch in Telnet

5. Summary of the experiment

Through this experiment, we not only know more about the router / switch, but also know how to configure Telnet on the router / switch, and strengthen our own hands-on ability to do the experiment.
