Tonight, Pioneer has officially confirmed the availability of its after-sales wireless CarPlay head unit. The company first showed off a prototype version of its wireless CarPlay product on CES, but now it offers three new head units for purchase.

The flagship option here is the brand new AVIC-W8400N EX, with a dual D IN design and a 7-inch capacitive touch screen. This model sells for 1200 dollars. The next totem pole is AVIC-W6400N EX, which has a resistive touch screen. However, the screen here is slightly smaller, only 6.2 inches. Its price is 800 dollars.

But last but not least, AVH-W4400NEX. What you see here is a 7-inch display that also has a resistive touch function. The model is at the entry level of the wireless CarPlay market and sells for $700.

An important issue to consider here is the difference between touchscreen types. The W4400NEX and W6400N EX may be cheaper, but you have a resistor panel. This means that you usually have to press hard because the panel is not designed for fingers, unlike the capacitive displays used in the other two models.

All three new head units are automatically compatible with CarPlay and Android and work over wired or wireless connections. Wired connection, only need to plug in the equipment through the lightning rod.

Pioneer also claims to support the control of devices that support home suites through Siri and CarPlay.

"We are very excited to be able to expand our NEX series and introduce the latest developments in smartphones and the integration of cars into smart homes," said Ted Cardinias, vice president of pioneer electronics.

"with our new wireless connection option, you no longer have to worry about taking your smartphone out of your bag or pocket before getting on the bus. in addition, if you have a smart home, the new model allows you to put your connected life into your car. with our new device, you can check your status or control your smart device at home while you are on the road, away from the convenience of the car.

After its prototype was unveiled on CES, Pioneer announced today that the latest implementation of Pioneer's popular NEX platform, the inventory receivers for AVIC-W8400N EX, AVIC-W6400N EX and AVH-W4400N EX, can now be purchased from authorized pioneer retailers. The new model features a built-in Wi-Fi wireless connection, specifically designed to support a wireless connection between a driver's or passenger's smartphone and a receiver. The after-sales department is the first option to provide drivers with wireless or USB connections to Android Auto and AppleCarPlay.

In addition, drivers connected to smart homes can now use any new built-in receiver to control their compatible smart devices from the vehicle, including thermostats, lights, locks, garage doors, etc. Google Assistant is now part of Android cars, which means that Google Assistant compatible devices can now report their status and / or control them directly from users' cars. Similarly, Apple CarPlay users can use Siri to remotely control their Home Kit accessories from their cars.

These three new dash receivers are the most distinctive set of receivers provided by the third generation of national executive models and pioneers. In 2018, the recommended retail prices for nationally executed recipients are $1200 (AVIC-W8400N EX), $800 (AVIC-W6400N EX) and $700 (AVH-W4400N EX). You can also download pictures of the new receiver here. I'm Ted Cardinias, vice president of Vanguard Electronics (USA), in case you want to include it in your report.
