The default SHELL of Solaris is sh, which is located in / usr/bin/sh. You can change it to the familiar bash of common Linux, and directly enter bash (located in, usr/bin/bash)

Sh does not have the ability to toggle history commands up and down and complete with Tab.

You can modify the user at the end of / etc/passwd to make the corresponding default SHELL.

Use echo $SHELL to view the default SHELL of the system

Change the tag in front of SHELL, controlled by the variable PS1:

PS1=' [\ u@\ h:$PWD] #'

Export PS1
