When the mailbox server is installed, a default database is automatically generated, consisting of Mailbox Database+ random numbers

The default path of these default databases is on disk C, which not only affects the appearance, but also is difficult to ensure data security. The key is that some default mailboxes are stored in the first generated default database, so you need to remove these mailboxes to delete the default database.

1. Let's remove these default mailboxes.

a. Migrate all user mailboxes, including managing mailboxes and searching mailboxes

Get-Mailbox | New-MoveRequest-TargetDatabase DB01

b. Migrate arbitration mailbox

Get-Mailbox-Arbitration | New-MoveRequest-TargetDatabase DB01

c. Migrate audit log mailboxes

Get-Mailbox-AuditLog | New-MoveRequest-TargetDatabase DB01

d. Migrate monitoring mailbox

Get-Mailbox-Monitoring | New-MoveRequest-TargetDatabase DB01

You can use the following command to check progress

Get-MoveRequest

Finally, delete all completed requests

two。 After all the default mailboxes have been migrated, you can safely delete these default databases.

3. Finally, you can delete the mailbox database files in the corresponding directory of disk C.

For the second default database, because there is no default service mailbox on it, you can simply delete it.
