Executing in an isql environment:

1> select @@client_csname

2> go

Modify server-side character set methods:

Assuming the sybase installation directory is $sybase$

◆1. Go to $sybase$\ASE-12_5\bin directory

Execute command: charset -Usa -P binary.srt iso_1

◆2. Open isql and execute the following SQL query to find the id corresponding to iso_1.

select id , name from syscharsets where name = 'iso_1'

go

Suppose the query result is 1

Execute the following statement to set the default character set

sp_configure 'default char',1 --Possible error, subject to the above query results

go

Close ASE

shutdown

go

Restart the sybase service twice (the first time will fail) to start the service.
