Server data recovery failure environment:

The server model that requires data recovery is the IBM DS5300 storage device, which contains a storage head and multiple storage expansion cabinets, and creates two sets of RAID 5 disk arrays. The array group that failed is the raid5 array in the No. 3 enclosure in the customer server, which consists of 15 member disks and 1 hot spare hard disk. In the process of using the server, the No. 11 hard disk in the No. 3 disk cabinet is offline, and the No. 16 hot spare hard disk is replaced for data synchronization. In the process of the hot backup hard disk synchronization, the No. 5 hard disk is also offline because of failure, resulting in data synchronization failure, RAID 5 array failure, the volume can not be mounted and accessed, and the server is paralyzed. There is an urgent need for server data recovery.

The first step of server data recovery-- backup data

In order to prevent secondary damage to the original server disk caused by misoperation in the process of data recovery, each disk is mirrored with the help of data recovery software, and all future data recovery operations are carried out on the mirror disk, which will not affect the original server disk.

The second step of server data recovery-- analyzing raid information

After mirroring and backing up the hard disks of all the members of the faulty raid that need data recovery, the raid structure is analyzed, 10 lun are virtually reassembled, and 10 lun are extracted.

Redo the failed raid, map the reconfigured 10 lun to the recovery server, and copy the extracted 10 lun files one-to-one into the 10 newly created lun.

Lun is all mapped back to the original server, and the mapping is successful and checked correctly. Customers begin to verify that some directories have not been restored, and the basic scope is accurate after July 2018.

The data is validated normally and mapped back to the original server. There are basically no obvious errors in the preliminary examination of the data.

The third step of server data recovery-- data recovery conclusion

Due to the failure of the server, the customer preserved the failure environment well and did not do any destructive and potentially risky operations on the server, so the data was preserved intact, the data recovery was completed smoothly, and the server data recovery was 100% successful.
