Just contact with hadoop, when downloading the hadoop installation package, I found that there are two zip, namely: hadoop-2.4.1.tar.gz and hadoop-2.4.1-src.tar.gz, what is the difference between these two folders, what are they used for?

A: tar.gz has already been compiled, and you can use it by decompressing and modifying the configuration file, while src.tar.gz is the source code and can only be used if it is compiled.

Tar.gz is for 32-bit machines and can only be compiled if you want to use it on 64-bit machines. Although the hadoop package installed directly with tar.gz on a 64-bit host will report an error, it does not affect the use and effect.
