Resolution steps:

Modify spark-env.sh to add SPARK_CLASSPATH=/opt/apache-hive-0.13.1-bin/conf

Change the hive.metastore.warehouse.dirvalue of hive-site.xml to hdfs://master:9000/user/hive/warehouse
